Exhibiting your birds can be fun and very rewarding, especially when you see the large rosettes your bird has won. Additionally, you can earn points toward other awards from the respective societies. You can enhance your bird by showing it in a show box, designed for your size bird. Some societies have very specific requirements for show boxes. However, the hookbill class, parrots, macaws, etc., judged by SPBE, Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors, does not have a specific requirement for show cages. The show cages should just be appropriate for your size bird with 3 sides enclosed and a sturdy front that you bird can not squeeze through. (Yes, I have seen cages where the bird came out through the wires during the judging at a show.). The perch should also be of a size appropriate for your bird. Their feet should wrap about three quarters of the way around the perch.
